S13E2, The Made-to-Measure Murders may flow too slowly for some. Still, it's an enjoyable, quiet-day-in-the-park episode. Lovely fields of grass, swaying in the breeze, Joyce painting and bringing sandwiches, while once again using her unmatched, photographic memory to provide the essential clues to solve the case. Dr. Bullard helps as well with his detailed recollection, smiling proudly at his contribution (while taking us all back twelve years by mentioning Badger's Drift). Jones offers up his own theory, but is once again too quick to assume. Yet he puts in the dirty work, getting his shoes stuck in dung-mud, escaping the voracious bark of dogs, running around a maze of trees in his work suit, but finally putting a stop to the murderer using only his quick moves and strength. And Tom, of course, is the one who puts all the jigsaw pieces together to bring us the entire picture. The mention of Tom and his relationship with his father is a notable element for those of us who know what brings him to the point of his retirement, which is only 6 episodes away.
