Midsomer Rhapsody, S8E8

Midsomer Rhapsody, S8E8

First of, this is rated R for two reasons: decapitated. head. So be careful. Other than that, this is a slow, but interesting enough episode without any sexual scenes. There are several snowy scenes and English homes worth the view. Cully and Joyce are there to spend time together, listening to music, talking, and attending a wedding together. Of course Tom has to leave them right before the wedding in order to solve a murder, but what else is new? I like this one, except for the dead head.

Sauce for the Goose, S8E7

Sauce for the Goose, S8E7

I rate this episode B for boring. Sorry, but the characters were flat and the story was not interesting. There is just one murder and the victim's body is extremely gross so turn your eyes away at all costs. Tom loses his skill as a detective simply because he thinks one of the suspects (who by the way, happens to have a very dowdy hairstyle) is attractive. Joyce is mad at him because he is not paying attention to her efforts to re-design Cully's room and organize the house. He won't even let her throw out some disgusting sauce in a jar. Later, she tells him that she knows he's got it bad for the dowdy lady, but he dismisses her, then he complains about her food and doesn't notice her new glasses. Finally after he realizes he's been blinded by his fondness for the murderer, he comes home, gives Joyce the attention she deserves and looks out the kitchen window knowing what a typical disappointing husband he can be.

There is one large estate house and grounds much focused on in several scenes. The interiors were nice but usually full of characters standing in the way. I say skip this one.
