S11E5, The Magician's Nephew can boast of its spectacular array of both interiors and exteriors, just lovely to watch. That said, there's a lot of cartoonish mumbo jumbo about demons and temples in this otherwise fun Halloween episode. The dark magic aside, the mystery is deep. You'll start off thinking it's obvious that whodunit is THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW, but then you think, no, it's obviously THAT LADY, but maybe it's too obvious, and then, what is that--there's ANOTHER nephew, huh? (It's a novel by C.S. Lewis too). Basically, I couldn't figure it out until the exciting final 2 minutes (anyone else wonder if Jones feels guilty for rushing the guy there? I mean, dang. Death by frog. Dude). Wonderful acting by Stuart Wilson as Aloysius. And lots of other character names that got me mixed up. The name Simon kept being said so got me thinking of Cully's beau, who we see seldom see. I can feel the seasons with the OG Barnabys drawing to end and I'm not happy about it.
