S11E4, Midsomer Life, is a fun episode to watch (aside from the dead bodies, so look away, and don't be eating popcorn during the first reveal, and be forewarned about what you'll see inside the clothes dryer!)! Besides that, there are many lovely and cute conversations between Joyce and Tom in this one! There's the running gag about how Joyce is always there to figure things out and is the wind beneath Tom's wings. Tom gets in a pub brawl, unwillingly, and it's hard not to laugh. Jones once again tries to break up the fight while trying to protect Stephens, and Tom implies that the former two might one day, "get involved." Joyce wipes up some blood and almost gets the ax! But it's all wrapped up sweetly and ends at the rainy BBQ celebrating Tom's birthday! Bullard gets a couple of jabs in there and Cully (aka Mrs. Dixon) sends her love. Tom's gift from Joyce is an artist's rendition of 2 badgers...hint...hint...that reference is not a coincidence, is it? If you catch my DRIFT. Speaking of Badgers Drift, Selina Cadell delivers another memorable Midsomer appearance in the character of Eleanor Crouch. Well-acted by all the others as well--the multi-layered mystery itself is interesting, however, impossible to solve save for the mind of our Detective Tom Barnaby! Plenty of quaint exteriors and cozy interiors--so take a stroll and scroll scroll scroll....
