S12E6, The Creeper

S12E6, The Creeper, is your run-of-the-mill Midsomer episode with its grand estates, rolling green fields, and homes full of expensive old furnishings. And like one character so aptly stated, its cast is made up of  "uptight bourgeois parasites, noses in the trough," and of course in possession of a sneaky, shameful secret worth killing for! Another young actress decided to unrobe for the Midsomer producers and someone was meant to be impressed, though it wasn't me, obviously. Some fresh fun is Jones' new hairdo and Joyce being the "man of the house" whilst tumbling down the stairs, superhero style! We're reminded that Tom doesn't mind sweeping petty crimes under the rug, especially if the doer is not too "creepy," and though he may not be useful around the house--he's gonna catch those crazy killers.

S12E5, Small Mercies

S12E5, Small Mercies: Just when you thought lovely Joyce might actually miss a village festival, there she is. And not only that, she finds a dead body, just like old times! This is a classic Midsomer episode, a wacky, gruesome murder from the start, mysterious scenes of mysterious people walking on gravel against a backdrop of mysterious music. A couple of sexual situations and miserable married couples, irritable arseholes who refer to one another as cows, typical mental posh among the trash to toss. Still, it's well-acted and twisty-turny in the end scenes; this one is memorable for it's opening scene--and who doesn't love a cute little model village?
